I had a dream that I was trapped in a hospital elevator with my dad, and we were talkibgg normally. Then, when we had to move out luggage alonh with the other guests, he got mad at me and yelled at me whenever I tried to help, always telling me that I should be submissive like a [true woman], and that 'your help is useles'. I remember that I started to cry, but he only yelled at me more. It was at this point that passerby began defending me, and this got my dad to shut up for a while. I then felty happy as I started to move stuff in peace. We eventually got free from the elevator, and my dad was incensed that they defended me, but he was ultimately defeated as we accomplished our mission. Next thing I knew, I was back in the car with my dad, and we drove along an empty night road. We eventually crashed, and then he got impaled in the face by rebar following the accident. I wasn't scared at all, more happy than anything, as I woke back up into the real world.
Dreams about being trapped, especially in a confined space like a hospital elevator, often symbolize feelings of confinement or lack of control in a situation in your waking life. The presence of your dad in the dream suggests that this may relate to your relationship with him or to paternal authority in general.
The conflict in the dream, where your dad yells at you and insists on your submissiveness, points to feelings of frustration or powerlessness in your relationship with him. His insistence on traditional gender roles might indicate that you feel pressured to conform to expectations that you find limiting or unfair. The fact that you cried signifies an emotional response to this pressure, indicating that you may feel hurt or undervalued in this dynamic.
The intervention by passerby who defend you represents a desire for support and affirmation from others in your life. This part of the dream indicates that you have allies or seek validation outside of your father’s authority, reinforcing the idea that you deserve to be heard and treated with respect.
The eventual escape from the elevator, despite your dad's anger at being challenged, signifies personal growth or a breakthrough in your ability to assert yourself. Simply moving luggage in peace symbolizes a newfound independence and a sense of accomplishment in overcoming these challenges.
The car crash and the rebar injury to your dad can represent a significant change or transformation. Crashing might symbolize a breaking point or a culmination of your frustrations, suggesting that something in your relationship with him needs to change drastically. Your feelings of happiness at this moment may reflect relief and liberation from a controlling relationship, rather than fear of the consequences.
Overall, this dream might reveal an internal struggle regarding authority, expectations, and self-assertion, as well as a yearning to break free from limiting beliefs imposed by familial or societal standards.
